In september, I gave a presentation at my company on the subject of podcasting. To kick off the presentation, I started by talking about how blogging has evolved beyond the old “Dear Diary” format into something new and more powerful. As an example, I used kottke.org since it was (as far as I know) the first blog-for-blog’s sake full-time job. I remember my coworkers’ amazement at the idea that anyone could blog for a living, especially considering that it was sustained by readers and not funded by any sort of advertising or marketing vehicle.
Now, on the anniversary of his micropatron fund drive, Jason Kottke paints a fuzzy picture for the future of his blog.
Jason: Has blogging jumped the shark? For you? In general?
