The one thing you really need to have at any conference, no matter how technologically advanced, is a good old business card. The one thing I brought none of tho this conference is business cards. I didn’t want to be left in the lurch if I met someone that I wanted to see again, so I had to improvise.

The CVS across the street from my hotel had some rudimentary school supplies. I grabbed a deck of cards and a sharpie and got to work.

The playing card business cards have already been a hit with some folks here at SXSWi. At the Frog Design party, I gave out enough in a row to form a straight flush.

From left to right:

Fred Anguera – Documentary film producer and massage therapist
Clay Johnson – Founding partner of Blue State Digital, built Howard Dean and Barak Obama’s sites (woot!)
Sara Buckwitz – COO, Inradio; created a media finder that lets users get what they need out of the web
Stefan Hartwig – partner, Electric Pulp, created web solutions for Tom Daschle, Tim Johnson
Aaron Mentele – pretty much the same as Stefan, from what I understand

Clay pointed out that I could be known amongst SXSW’ers as “the guy with the cards” which is fine with me.

UPDATE! There is another!
